We can’t wait to welcome you all back through our doors with socially distanced open arms. Things may be somewhat different for a while but rest assured you will all still receive that special Butchers Social welcome! We have undertaken all reasonable measures to ensure the safety of our lovely staff and guests. These measures will be under continuous review as we receive further guidance from the Government.

Our food

We have temporarily reduced our menu to ease speed of service and ensure the kitchen can continue to create your favourite dishes.

As always, we will continue to use the finest seasonal ingredients and best produce available to us. It is of great importance to us that we know the origins and traceability of all our produce.

You will be given a fresh menu when you dine with us and these menus will then be disposed of after each use.

All condiments will be disinfected between each use.

Our kitchen has been newly renovated with sparkling clean equipment and utensils.


The Butcher’s Social has been thoroughly deep cleaned and we have further increased our rigorous cleaning schedules daily.

The toilet will be cleaned & checked every hour by staff, however if you do see any issues, please notify a member of staff immediately so this can be rectified.

Every table will be cleaned & sanitised thoroughly at the end of every guest visit.

There will be hand sanitiser available to all guests and staff at various points around the restaurant, bar & garden.


We ask if you have any of the following symptoms that you do not visit us;

  • Continuous cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • High temperature


We will welcome you to come and visit, even if it is just for a drink. We will have some outside tables available for drinkers, these will be available on a first come first served basis.

In line with government guidance, we cannot allow guests to drink at the bar.

Our staff will be more than happy to take your drinks orders from the bar ,but we ask that you do not lean on the bar in the process and take your drink to a table where you can sit and relax with it.

To aid with Track & Trace, a member of the team will ask for your details upon entering and ordering.


You will see visual clues in passageways and entrances to adhere to social distancing guidelines. We kindly ask that our guests respect these when you visit us.

The tables in each part of the building have been carefully laid out to ensure social distancing is followed.

We ask that you do not move tables or chairs together.


Bookings can be made online or by phoning us on 01564 792135. In line with the Track & Trace system to support the NHS, you all be asked to provide your name, number and email address. Your personal information will be securely stored and only used if there is a need to check if a Coronavirus outbreak has occurred and we or the public health authorities need to contact guests.

Where possible this information will be stored on our online booking system.

In the event of your information being taken on paper, it will then be disposed of in a confidential manner after 21 days.

The maximum reservation that can be made online will be for 6 guests only. For larger tables please call the restaurant.

Walk ins

We will of course be welcoming walk ins but we ask that you speak to a staff member before sitting down.

This is to ensure we continue to meet the UK government guidance on safe distancing in bars/restaurants and do not go over capacity.

We strongly encourage for your own convenience that you book ahead where possible, even if it’s a last-minute decision!


All of our staff have been trained on the new procedures in place. They will also receive daily health and wellbeing checks.

We ask that you respect our staff when drinking or dining with us.

Above all, they can’t wait to serve you all again!
